Party chairman expresses confidence in court victories as legal team files appeal and seeks stay of execution

The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has assured party members that the party will participate fully in the 2027 general elections, despite ongoing legal disputes.

Speaking Wednesday night after receiving a briefing from the party’s legal team on a recent Federal High Court judgment in Abuja, the former Senate President downplayed concerns over the litigation, expressing strong confidence in the ADC’s chances in court.

Mark told party stakeholders there was no cause for alarm, insisting that the ADC is well-prepared to confront the legal challenges ahead and emerge victorious.

“We shall triumph in all the cases before us and be on the ballot for every election,” he said, emphasizing the party’s readiness to pursue every legal avenue. “We will do everything within the bounds of the law to overcome these challenges.”

Although not a lawyer, Mark pledged to take an active leadership role in navigating the legal fight, assuring members that the party remains resolute.

“I will lead from the front in this legal battle, and we shall surely prevail,” he added.

The ADC has already begun the process of appealing the court’s decision and has filed for a stay of execution, signaling its determination to contest the ruling.

The reassurance comes at a crucial time as the party ramps up preparations for the 2027 elections. Mark’s comments are expected to boost morale among party loyalists and reinforce confidence in the ADC’s electoral prospects.
