Petrol climbs N75 per litre, diesel surges N200 as refinery cites global crude trends, sparking fresh inflation fears across Nigeria.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased the gantry prices of petrol and diesel, putting additional strain on Nigerian consumers and businesses.
According to a top refinery official, the hike reflects adjustments in response to prevailing international crude oil benchmarks and market conditions.
Under the new pricing structure, petrol now costs N1,275 per litre—a N75 increase or roughly 5% higher than last month. Diesel surged by N200, reaching N1,950 per litre, edging closer to the N2,000 mark at the pump.
The sharp increases underscore growing fuel cost pressures that threaten to ripple through the broader economy, affecting transportation, goods, and services nationwide.
