SheVentures programme opens nationwide, offering funding, mentorship, and business support to scale women-led enterprises
First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has launched a fresh application round for its flagship SheVentures programme, offering zero-interest loans of up to N10 million to empower women entrepreneurs and accelerate the growth of female-led businesses across Nigeria.
The initiative targets a long-standing gap in access to affordable financing for women-owned enterprises, many of which face steep borrowing costs despite their significant contribution to Nigeria’s small and medium-scale enterprise (SME) sector.
Under the scheme, qualified applicants can access between N500,000 and N5 million in the general category, while businesses in select sectors are eligible for higher funding ranging from N5 million to N10 million. FCMB noted that loan approvals will be capped at 50 percent of the applicant’s average monthly turnover.
Beyond funding, the programme offers a zero percent interest rate, flexible repayment terms spanning four to six months, and a suite of support services including mentorship, capacity-building training, and business development opportunities.
FCMB’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Yemisi Edun, described the initiative as part of the bank’s broader commitment to driving inclusive economic growth and empowering women. Similarly, Nnenna Jacob-Ogogo, Group Head of SheVentures and Impact Segments, said the programme is designed to help women-led businesses stay resilient and scale even in challenging economic conditions.
Applications are now open to eligible women entrepreneurs nationwide.
