Nigerian dancer Poco Lee says he remained confident throughout his UK ordeal because he knew he was innocent, as the Crown Prosecution Service confirms his case remains active.

Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has denied allegations against him in the United Kingdom, insisting that he remained confident throughout his recent ordeal because he knew he was innocent.

Poco Lee made the statement during a video conversation with social commentator VeryDarkMan, who shared excerpts of their discussion on Instagram.

The dancer said his major concerns during the period were his associates and business activities rather than the allegations he was facing.

He also acknowledged the support he received from Nigerian singer Burna Boy, Rahman Jago and other associates, particularly Burna Boy, whom he said stood by him despite the circumstances surrounding the case.

Poco Lee’s comments come amid conflicting reports circulating online about the status of his UK criminal case.

Some reports had claimed that the dancer had been released from prison or that the complainant had withdrawn from the case.

However, the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed that the case remains active and that Odinaka is scheduled to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026.

According to the CPS, the hearing is a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing (PTPH), a pre-trial proceeding at which issues relating to the defendant’s plea and preparations for trial are considered.

The CPS has not disclosed whether Odinaka is currently in custody or on bail, while further clarification has been sought from the court.

Odinaka is facing five sexual offence charges, including attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.

The charges reportedly arose following his visit to the UK for the Davido and Friends concert in London on August 14.

Odinaka has denied the allegations. He has not been convicted of any offence, and the case remains before the court.

Under UK law, a person facing criminal charges is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
