Intelligence-led operation under Operation Hadin Kai hits fortified hideouts, cripples insurgent activities in Borno
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its offensive against insurgents, confirming that a precision airstrike in Sambisa Forest, Borno State, successfully neutralised multiple terrorists and destroyed key operational bases.
The strike, executed under Operation Hadin Kai, targeted the Yuwe axis of the forest after credible intelligence and sustained surveillance identified active terrorist enclaves concealed within fortified bunkers and structures.
According to military authorities, the operation deployed precision-guided munitions to devastating effect, obliterating hideouts, logistics hubs, and other critical infrastructure used by the insurgents. Several fighters were reportedly eliminated in the process.
The NAF described the mission as part of a sustained air campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist networks in the North-East, noting that continuous pressure is forcing insurgents into disarray and significantly weakening their operational capabilities.
Reaffirming its strategic approach, the Air Force emphasized its commitment to intelligence-driven operations while maintaining strict measures to minimise civilian casualties. It added that air support remains crucial in bolstering ground troops and accelerating efforts to fully neutralise insurgent threats in the region.
