The electoral commission says results are being uploaded as collation continues across Osun State, with 10.68 per cent of expected polling unit results on the portal as of 4:03pm.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the electronic upload of results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV), as the collation of results gets underway across the state.
As of 4:03pm on Saturday, 402 polling unit results had been uploaded out of the 3,763 results expected from the election. The figure represents 10.68 per cent of the total results.
The latest result uploaded to the portal at the time was recorded at 4:03:10pm from Polling Unit 29/02/04/006.
The IReV platform allows voters, election observers, political parties and other stakeholders to access polling unit-level results electronically as they are uploaded by INEC officials.
The commission’s Result Stats section showed the figures being updated as more results were received, with users able to refresh the portal for the latest uploads.
The upload process was still at an early stage as of press time, with hundreds of results yet to be posted on the platform.
Accord Party Defeats APC at Oyinlola’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election
The governorship election features a contest between incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, alongside the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, and other candidates.
As the electronic upload continues, physical collation is expected to proceed from polling units to wards and subsequently to the 30 local government areas of the state before the final results are declared.
The process is being closely monitored by political parties, observers and voters, with stakeholders looking to INEC’s result-upload system to promote transparency and allow the public to independently follow the outcome of the election.
