Goski, who worked with the controversial singer for four years, accuses him of exploitation, poor treatment and reneging on a promised six per cent commission before announcing the end of their professional relationship.
Goski, the personal assistant and manager of Nigerian singer Speed Darlington, has announced the end of their four-year working relationship, accusing the entertainer of exploiting his services and failing to adequately compensate him for his contributions to the singer’s career.
In a public statement, Goski expressed gratitude to Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Achakpo, for the opportunity to work with him but made it clear that he was no longer interested in being associated with the singer professionally.
“I’m no longer with Speedy. Nobody should call me, nobody should involve me or text me about booking him or whatever it is,” Goski said.
The announcement followed a series of allegations by Goski, who claimed that his efforts to secure opportunities, connect the singer with influential people and support his career were not matched by fair treatment or compensation.
‘He Paid Me ₦250,000 Out Of ₦30 Million’
One of Goski’s major grievances centred on an alleged payment he received after Speed Darlington secured ₦30 million from a deal linked to his clash with fellow entertainer Carter Efe.
According to Goski, he was paid only ₦250,000, which he considered grossly inadequate given the work he claimed to have done to facilitate opportunities for the singer.
“250,000, 0.75% out of 30 million. Not even one per cent. Not even one million,” he said.
Goski alleged that Speed Darlington had previously promised to pay him six per cent commission on every job he secured. However, he claimed that when disagreements arose over his compensation, the singer argued that they had no formal contract.
The alleged discrepancy between the promised commission and the amount Goski said he received appears to have deepened the rift between the pair.
Goski maintained that his contributions went beyond the routine responsibilities of a personal assistant, insisting that he played an important role in helping the singer secure deals and build professional connections.
Goski Claims He Spent His Own Money Supporting Singer
Beyond the financial disagreement, Goski accused Speed Darlington of treating him poorly despite his loyalty and personal sacrifices over the years.
He claimed to have connected the singer with clients and influential individuals who could help advance his career. He also said he stood by Speed Darlington during his arrest, travelling to Abuja several times and spending his personal money to address issues surrounding the singer’s situation.
Goski further alleged that he often had to cover his own transportation expenses, even when he was responsible for arranging flights for Speed Darlington and his assistant.
He suggested that the arrangement left him shouldering expenses and responsibilities without receiving what he considered fair compensation for his efforts.
Questioning the way he was treated after four years of working together, Goski said the absence of a formal contract should not justify what he described as disrespect.
“Even if I don’t have a contract with you, does it mean that you keep me like trash?” he asked.
‘He Wanted Someone He Could Intimidate’
Goski also alleged that Speed Darlington wanted a personal assistant he could intimidate rather than someone who would independently contribute to his career.
According to him, his role involved more than carrying out instructions, as he helped generate content, identify opportunities and connect the singer with people who could offer professional and commercial benefits.
His comments suggest that the disagreement was not solely about money but also about how he believed his work and loyalty were valued throughout their partnership.
However, the allegations remain Goski’s account of the dispute. The claims about the payment, commission arrangement and treatment have not been independently established in the information available, and Speed Darlington’s response was not included in Goski’s statement.
Goski Rules Out Return to Speed Darlington
Despite acknowledging the opportunity he received from the singer, Goski said he had decided to move on and would no longer handle bookings, professional engagements or other matters relating to Speed Darlington.
He also indicated that he was open to working and collaborating with other people.
“I’m not with Speedy, and I’ll never be with him anymore,” he declared.
The announcement brings an end, at least for now, to a four-year professional relationship that Goski says involved considerable personal sacrifices and contributions to the singer’s career.
With the split now public, the dispute has placed renewed attention on the financial arrangements, expectations and contractual protections that can shape working relationships between entertainers and the people responsible for managing their careers.
For Goski, his message is clear: he believes his years of service deserved better compensation and treatment, and he is ready to move on.
