Singer Peter Okoye credits fans for overwhelming support as his signature cap from viral tell-all series sparks fashion demand surge
Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, is enjoying a wave of commercial success off the back of his ongoing tell-all series, as demand for his now-iconic red ZR snapback cap continues to soar.
The singer revealed that nearly 3,000 units of the cap—part of his fashion brand, Zipp Republic—were sold within just seven days, describing the response as both surprising and overwhelming.
Taking to social media on Monday, Mr P expressed gratitude to fans who have turned the cap into a trending fashion item.
“Guys, we honestly didn’t see this coming. Almost 3,000 Red ZR CAPS sold in the last seven days and more orders still pumping in every second,” he wrote.
The red cap has become closely associated with Mr P’s appearance in his widely discussed eight-part tell-all series, where he revisits the turbulent history of P-Square, including the group’s repeated breakups and long-standing family disputes.
Overwhelmed by Demand
With orders continuing to surge, the singer acknowledged that his team is currently struggling to keep up with demand and appealed for patience from customers awaiting delivery.
“We are overwhelmed with orders right now, so please be a little patient with us. We promise every single order will be delivered ASAP,” he added.
The Red ZR snapback hat, which is currently selling for ₦20,000 after a price slash from ₦45,000, has quickly become one of the most sought-after items among fans and fashion enthusiasts.
Tell-All Series Fuels Interest
The spike in sales is widely linked to renewed public interest in Mr P’s personal and professional journey, driven by his tell-all series that began on July 30. The series has reignited conversations around the P-Square split, drawing reactions from fans who remain divided over the issues involving Mr P, his twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), and their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

Beyond fashion, Mr P is also marking milestones in his solo music career. His song “I Can’t Look Away” recently debuted at number 151 on the Spotify Nigeria Daily Top Songs chart, making it the first solo chart entry by either member of the former duo since their separation.
Expansion Plans in Sight
Riding on the momentum, Mr P hinted at expanding Zipp Republic’s offerings, with plans to introduce gym wear, sportswear, and children’s clothing—signaling a broader push into the lifestyle and apparel market.
For now, however, it is the red ZR cap that remains at the center of attention, symbolising both a personal statement and a commercial win for the artist as fans continue to rally behind him.
