Henry Okoye claims he sponsored and supported the duo before fame, alleges mismanagement, neglect, and growing division within the Okoye family.

The lingering rift within the Okoye family has taken a fresh turn as Henry Okoye, the elder brother of famed music duo P-Square, publicly accused their former manager and brother, Jude Okoye, of orchestrating the deep divisions that have plagued the family for years.

Henry made the claims during an interview with Nollyserve published on YouTube, where he recounted his early involvement in the rise of Peter and Paul Okoye, insisting that he played a foundational role in their journey long before Jude assumed managerial control.

According to Henry, the narrative that Jude built P-Square’s career is misleading. He maintained that the family, particularly himself, had already begun supporting the twins when they struggled to secure sponsorship in their early days.

“When they started music, they couldn’t get sponsors. I was the one sponsoring them at the time. Jude was not there then,” Henry said. “We travelled from state to state. They used my car for promotions, and I even acted as their bodyguard. It was a family effort, but we knew the brand belonged to Peter and Paul.”

He further disclosed that Jude only became involved after the duo had begun gaining traction, alleging that their late mother had initially opposed handing over management responsibilities to him due to concerns about his character.

“We wanted Jude to manage them at some point, but my mum objected. She said she understood the kind of person he was,” Henry claimed.

Henry alleged that following Jude’s takeover as manager, a noticeable shift occurred within the family, with the twins gradually distancing themselves from other relatives.

“Things changed. They started withdrawing from everyone, and we didn’t realise at the time that Jude was behind it,” he said.

The elder brother also raised concerns over an alleged unmet agreement regarding compensation for his early contributions. He claimed that he was promised a 20 per cent share from the group’s performance earnings but never received any payment.

“They promised me 20 per cent from each show, but I never got anything. When I asked, Jude dismissed it and questioned why I should get such a share,” he alleged.

Henry further painted a picture of strained family ties, claiming he has not been in contact with Jude for nearly two years. He also accused Jude of neglecting other family members, including their youngest sister.

“I was hospitalised for two months. Peter and Paul called to check on me, but Jude never did. He doesn’t care. Our youngest sister is struggling in Lagos, and nobody is helping her,” he said.

Expressing disappointment over the current dynamics, Henry described Paul Okoye as once the most compassionate member of the family, noting that his recent behaviour has been surprising.

“Paul used to be the nicest among us. The way he has changed now is shocking,” he added.

On the possibility of reconciliation between the P-Square duo, Henry expressed pessimism, suggesting that Jude’s influence remains a major obstacle.

“I would love to see them reunite, but I don’t think it will happen. Everything goes through Jude. If he says no, that’s the end,” he said.

Henry’s remarks come amid an escalating dispute between Peter Okoye and Jude Okoye. The conflict intensified after Peter released a series of videos accusing Jude of financial mismanagement and making serious threats—claims that have further widened the divide within the once closely-knit family.

The renewed allegations have once again drawn public attention to the internal struggles of one of Africa’s most successful music groups, raising fresh questions about the future of P-Square and the possibility of mending long-standing family fractures.
