Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus, Pasuma, Oga Bello, Saheed Balogun and other entertainment figures were listed under the party’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has named 33 prominent figures from Nigeria’s entertainment industry to its campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The names, which include veteran actors, Nollywood stars and popular musicians, were contained in the campaign council list released on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre.

Among those listed are veteran actor Jide Kosoko, Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus, Fuji musician Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Bimbo Akintola, Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi, Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Fathia Balogun, Yinka Quadri and Tayo Sobola.

The music industry also has several representatives on the list, including Pasuma, Obesere, Adewale Ayuba, Malaika, Osupa and Small Doctor.

The personalities were listed under the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, one of several directorates established as part of the Lagos APC campaign structure for the 2027 elections.

Within the directorate, Toke Benson-Awoyinka is listed as Director, while Jide Kosoko is named Co-Director. Eniola Badmus is listed as Deputy Director.

Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, is named Secretary, while Dare Olateju is listed as Assistant Secretary.

Toyin Abraham rejects inclusion

However, the inclusion of actress Toyin Abraham has been publicly disputed after she rejected the reported appointment.

Shortly after the campaign council list was released, Abraham took to her Instagram Story to state that she was not a member of any campaign council.

The actress said she had decided to stay away from politics and asked members of the public to disregard her inclusion on the list.

Her statement has therefore created a distinction between the published campaign council list and her stated position, leaving her reported membership of the council disputed.

The development comes as the Lagos APC prepares to formally inaugurate its campaign council ahead of the 2027 elections.

The inauguration is scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2026, at the party’s secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.

The inclusion of actors and musicians in the campaign structure highlights the role the APC intends to give the entertainment and creative sector as it prepares for the next election cycle in Lagos.

However, Abraham’s rejection means that while she appears on the published list, she has publicly stated that she does not belong to the campaign council.
