Senator Ita Enang to assume duties in Berlin as reports link Fani-Kayode’s removal to alleged diplomatic rejection
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has been replaced as Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to Germany, with Senator Ita Enang now set to take over the key diplomatic posting.
Enang, who was initially appointed as Nigeria’s Ambassador to South Africa, will instead proceed to Berlin to assume official duties at the Nigerian Embassy in the coming weeks.
The development comes shortly after a report by Peoples Gazette alleged that Fani-Kayode—widely known as FFK—was rejected by the German government, raising questions about his nomination.
Although there has been no official confirmation on the circumstances surrounding his replacement, Fani-Kayode’s next diplomatic posting remains uncertain. However, reports suggest he may be redeployed to South Africa.
The reshuffle signals a significant shift in Nigeria’s diplomatic assignments in Europe and Africa, with Ita Enang now expected to represent the country in Germany.
