Israel Shares New Intel on Iranian Plot to Assassinate Trump — Reports

Fresh intelligence warning emerges amid rising US-Iran tensions, as security concerns prompt unusual Air Force One switch after NATO summit.

Israel has reportedly passed on fresh intelligence to the United States detailing a “specific” and newly identified Iranian plot to assassinate President Donald Trump, according to multiple US media outlets.

The development comes against the backdrop of escalating hostilities between Washington and Tehran, raising fears of a broader military confrontation. It also coincided with heightened security concerns surrounding Trump’s recent travel following the NATO summit in Turkey.

According to CNN, US officials had been tracking what sources described as a “steady drumbeat” of threats against the president. However, the latest warning from Israel was said to be more precise, pointing to a concrete and evolving plot. The Wall Street Journal similarly reported that the intelligence referenced a “fresh” assassination plan.

Iran has long vowed retaliation against Trump over the 2020 killing of top military commander Qassem Soleimani, an operation ordered during Trump’s first term in office.

Responding to the reports, Trump appeared to acknowledge the threat, telling reporters aboard Air Force One that he was aware of being targeted. “They want to take out the US leader — me. I’m on every list,” he said.

Security concerns intensified further during Trump’s return journey from Turkey. In an unusual move, he departed using an older Air Force One aircraft while a newer jet — recently gifted by Qatar — flew ahead to the United Kingdom. Trump later switched planes before continuing to Washington.

The aircraft swap sparked speculation about potential vulnerabilities in the new jet’s security systems, particularly given the timing of renewed US strikes on Iran. The New York Times reported that the decision was made at the request of the US Secret Service as a precautionary measure.

While Trump avoided directly addressing the security adjustments during a press briefing, he hinted at ongoing threats, referencing past alleged plots linked to Iran.

The White House has not issued a detailed official statement on the intelligence reports.
