Auto giant files suit in Milan, claims Super Eagles striker defaulted on €90,000 payment and failed to return leased luxury vehicle
German automobile powerhouse Mercedes-Benz has reportedly initiated legal proceedings against Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen over an alleged unpaid vehicle leasing debt valued at about €90,000 (approximately ₦142 million).
The dispute is said to stem from a luxury car lease agreement entered into during Osimhen’s stint in Italy. According to reports, the striker allegedly defaulted on payment obligations tied to the contract, prompting action from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.
The case was filed in Milan, where the company is also claiming that the vehicle in question was not returned upon the expiration of the lease agreement, further compounding the dispute.
While the matter has now escalated into a legal battle, neither Osimhen nor his representatives have issued any official statement in response to the allegations as of the time of filing this report.
Despite the off-field controversy, Osimhen continues to maintain his status as a top performer for both club and country, delivering consistently strong displays on the pitch.
