Nigerian afrobeats singer, Niniola Apata, has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika.
The Grammy-nominated artist disclosed the tragic news in a series of emotional posts shared on her Instagram story in the early hours of Wednesday.
“God took him,” she wrote in one post, followed by another that read, “My husband died.” In a third message, she added, “God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years,” reflecting on the length of their relationship.
Each post was accompanied by photos of the couple, offering a rare glimpse into her private life.
Ndika, until his death, was the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform dedicated to afrobeats and contemporary African music.
