Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been discharged from hospital following surgery on a fractured right forearm and is now focused on his rehabilitation.

Fans of both Galatasaray and Nigeria remain optimistic about his return, hoping it will come sooner than initially expected.

The 27-year-old forward underwent surgery at the Maslak Acıbadem Hospital in Istanbul, with the procedure lasting approximately three hours.

Scans had earlier confirmed the fracture he sustained during a UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash against Liverpool at Anfield. The club’s doctor, Op. Dr. Yener İnce, led the surgical team.

On the pitch, Osimhen collided mid-air with defender Ibrahima Konaté. Demonstrating his trademark toughness, he continued playing until halftime before being substituted.

Although he was expected to be discharged a day after the operation, Osimhen requested an extended hospital stay to ensure thorough monitoring and optimal recovery conditions.

His decision has been well received within the club, with Galatasaray officials viewing it as a sign of his commitment and professionalism.

Initial assessments indicated a six-to-eight-week absence, but more recent reports suggest a recovery window of four to six weeks, raising hopes he could return to action sooner than anticipated.

Before the injury, Osimhen had been in outstanding form, scoring 19 goals and providing seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions, including several eye-catching performances in Europe.
