An amateur boxer identified as Kehinde, popularly known as KBlaq, has been stabbed to death during a violent incident at Olodo Garage in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, November 1, 2026, leaving family members, friends and residents shocked, with calls mounting for justice for the deceased.
According to accounts shared by individuals familiar with the incident on social media, Kehinde was allegedly not among those initially involved in the street fight.
The accounts claimed that the confrontation had already ended when a suspect, who was reportedly not part of the original dispute, allegedly emerged and attacked the boxer with a broken bottle, stabbing him in the neck.
Kehinde reportedly sustained severe injuries and later died.
The circumstances surrounding the killing have generated widespread reactions on social media, with several users expressing disbelief over how an argument or street confrontation could escalate into a fatal attack.
One X user, identified as @MVKAY2, alleged that the person responsible for the stabbing was not involved in the initial fight.
The user wrote that the parties had already stopped fighting before the suspect allegedly appeared and attacked Kehinde.
Another user, @omononaolapo, also claimed that the alleged attacker was not among those initially engaged in the confrontation.
A third user, @Tunde, who described the deceased as his brother, expressed grief over the loss and criticised the circumstances surrounding the incident.
He wrote: “Na my brother o. Ajeh. Olodo bike men can be very mean sometimes, and they were all there watching them fight.”
Similarly, @Fela said the deceased was a friend of his younger brother, adding that he only learnt about the killing after arriving at church on Sunday.
Another social media user, @Pelumifundz, who described Kehinde as the younger brother of a friend, said the deceased was a twin and a gentle person who rarely got into trouble.
The user called for a thorough investigation to establish what led to the alleged stabbing and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
The growing reactions have also raised questions about the circumstances that preceded the attack and the identity of the alleged assailant.
Confirming the incident on Monday, the spokesperson for the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, told PUNCH Metro during a telephone conversation that the police had commenced an investigation into the killing.
However, the police spokesperson did not provide further details about the circumstances of the incident or whether any suspect had been arrested as of the time of filing this report.
The killing has renewed concerns about street violence and the dangers of seemingly ordinary disagreements escalating into deadly confrontations.
Meanwhile, friends and associates of the deceased continue to demand justice for KBlaq, whose death has left his loved ones mourning.
