Intelligence-led operations target criminal activities as police intensify efforts to disrupt criminal networks across the state

The men of the Nigerian Police Force, Borno State Police Command has recovered 41 mobile phones and suspected illicit drugs estimated to be worth about ₦6.5 million during intelligence-led operations aimed at tackling criminal activities across the state.

The recoveries were made as part of ongoing security operations designed to identify, disrupt and dismantle criminal networks operating in different parts of Borno State.

According to the police, operatives carried out targeted actions based on intelligence gathered on suspected criminal activities. The operations resulted in the recovery of several mobile phones and quantities of substances suspected to be illicit drugs.

The command said investigations are ongoing to establish the sources of the recovered items and determine their possible links to criminal activities.

The recovery of the mobile phones is also expected to assist investigators in tracing possible connections between suspects and wider criminal networks, depending on the outcome of forensic examination and other investigative procedures.

The police said the operations form part of broader efforts to strengthen security, prevent crime and protect residents and communities across the state.

The command further assured residents that it would continue to rely on intelligence gathering, targeted operations and collaboration with members of the public to address security challenges.

The police urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible and timely information about suspicious activities or individuals to security agencies.
