Group deploys members to 361 wards to sensitise women on political participation, voting and support for APC candidates

A political support group, the Women Divas of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Katsina State have began mobilizing women across the 34 local government areas of Katsina State to support the party's candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The National Coordinator of the group, Huraira Usman, disclosed this at a press conference held in Katsina where she noted that the group has also dispatched its members to the 361 political wards of the state to speak to women on the need to participate in politics, vote during elections and run for elective positions.

She said in the meantime, the Women Divas were focused on mobilizing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dikko Umaru Radda to enable them continue implementing policies and programs that will transform the national and state's economy.

“We are fully prepared to take the message of the APC to every woman in Katsina State. Our target is to ensure that women are educated, sensitized, and mobilized to come out en masse and support our party's candidates,” Usman said.

She observed that about 60% of registered voters as released by INEC were women, but decried the lack of political awareness among the womenfolk and low participation in politics and governance.

Usman said the group will continue to educate women on their political rights and the need to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state and country.

She also commended President Tinubu and Governor Radda for appointing several women in their cabinets and initiating social investment programs that give priority to women.
