Lima and Kira Taiwo appeal to Nigerians, medical professionals and cancer treatment centres to give their father, veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, another chance at treatment.
Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, is battling stage-four cancer, according to his daughters, who have made an emotional appeal for urgent medical assistance.
The actor’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, separately took to Instagram on Monday to seek help from Nigerians, well-wishers, medical professionals and healthcare facilities capable of providing cancer treatment.
The appeals came amid growing concern over the 66-year-old actor’s health, with his daughters saying some hospitals had declined to continue his treatment.
In an emotional video, Lima struggled to hold back tears as she explained that the family was desperately searching for a hospital or medical team willing to take up her father’s case.
“Hello everybody, good evening. I’m here to ask for help for my daddy. He has cancer and it’s really, really bad. And the hospitals are refusing to treat him. At least, please, give this man a chance,” she said.
According to her, the family only became aware of the seriousness of Ogogo’s condition about three weeks ago.
She said the actor’s appearance had initially given the impression that he was not seriously ill, making the discovery particularly difficult for the family.
“You see him, you can’t even know that something is wrong that bad. It’s just starting to show. We didn’t even know until like three weeks ago,” Lima said.
She stressed that the family was not asking for financial donations, but wanted assistance in finding qualified medical professionals or facilities that could treat the actor.
“Please, I’m begging you. If you know somebody that knows somebody that will be willing to treat him, anything, we’re willing to try anything. We’re not here to ask for money. Nobody’s here to ask for money,” she appealed.
Lima also acknowledged the support provided by a relative during the difficult period, saying her “big uncle” had been instrumental in helping the family cope with the crisis.
“My big uncle has helped a lot. He has been of great help. Like, nobody even knew that he would show up for us this way,” she said.
The emotional appeal ended with Lima pleading with anyone who could help secure medical attention for her father to intervene.
“But if he’s willing to do anything, please, if you know somebody that knows somebody that will be willing to treat him, would you really appreciate it? Please, I can’t watch my daddy die. I can’t,” she said through tears.
‘My daddy has cancer and is in stage four’
In a separate video, Ogogo’s other daughter, Kira, disclosed that the actor’s cancer had reached stage four.
She said the hospital treating him had indicated that it could no longer continue with chemotherapy.
“Hello everyone, I’m here for my daddy. He has cancer and is in stage four. The hospital is saying that they cannot treat him again, like they can’t give him chemo again,” Kira said.
She appealed to individuals and organisations with access to cancer treatment to come to the family’s aid.
“What I’m here for is that if you can treat my daddy, if you can start chemo for him, whether it’s medical or herbs, please, I’m begging you guys. Any help, anything, anybody that you know that can treat cancer, please,” she said.

Kira also acknowledged the assistance of Senator Yayi, whom she said had been helping the family financially and had been “footing the bills” during the actor’s health crisis.
However, she reiterated that the family’s immediate request was for treatment rather than money.
She urged anyone who knew a cancer specialist, hospital or medical facility capable of handling her father’s condition to contact her, her sister or Ogogo directly.
“Please, if you can treat my daddy, please send me a DM. I’ll be checking my phone. Please, I don’t want my daddy to die,” she pleaded.
The emotional toll of the situation was evident as Kira described the pain of watching her father struggle with the illness.
“God, give me strength. I’m suffering so bad. There’s no money, but if you know anybody that can treat my daddy, please,” she said.
She further revealed that Ogogo had expressed fear of dying.
“He’s saying that he doesn’t want to die. Please, I’ve never seen my daddy in that kind of pain before,” Kira said.

The actor’s daughters’ appeals have since drawn attention from fans and members of the public concerned about his wellbeing.
As of the time of filing this report, Ogogo’s management and family had not issued a formal statement providing details of the specific hospital where he is being treated, the nature of the cancer diagnosis or the treatment he has previously received.
The family’s appeal is specifically for medical intervention and assistance from professionals or facilities that may be able to assess and treat the veteran actor.
