Former Miss Switzerland Accuses Trump of Rape in 1993, House Democrats Demand Independent Special Counsel

Beatrice Keul alleges Donald Trump sexually assaulted her at a New York hotel after meeting Jeffrey Epstein at a beauty pageant. The White House denies the allegations, describing the report as a politically motivated attack.

A former Miss Switzerland contestant has accused US President Donald Trump of raping her in 1993, according to a report by Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee, which is calling for an independent special counsel to investigate allegations linked to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Beatrice Keul, who was 24 and working as a model at the time, reportedly made the allegations during an interview with committee staff. Her account, detailed in the Democrats' report, describes an encounter involving Trump and Epstein during a beauty pageant event in November 1993.

According to the report, Keul attended Trump's American Dream Pageant, where she said Trump offered to help her obtain a US visa and secure a place at New York University (NYU).

She later encountered Epstein, whom she said introduced himself as “Jeffrey, Don's best friend.” Epstein allegedly spoke with her for about 10 minutes before offering to pay for her flights and hotel accommodation for a party at Trump's Mar-a-Lago property.

Keul alleged that later that day, Trump invited her to a suite at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, where he grabbed her from behind and raped her.

She described the alleged assault as brutal, claiming her dress was torn and that she suffered bleeding and bruising.

The report states that Trump allegedly repeated his promises concerning a US visa and university admission after the incident, telling her that “the show must go on.”

These allegations have not been established as proven facts, and Trump has denied wrongdoing.

Alleged passport confiscation prevented her from leaving

Keul reportedly told congressional investigators that her passport had been taken after she arrived for the pageant, leaving her unable to leave the competition when she wanted to.

After returning to Switzerland, she allegedly received a telephone call from Trump, who again offered to help her obtain a visa and gain admission to NYU. According to the report, she declined the offers.

The report also draws attention to the university admission promise, arguing that similar offers were allegedly used by Epstein to attract and exert control over women and girls.

Keul had previously discussed her experience in a 2024 interview, in which she described Trump allegedly jumping on her and groping her. The committee Democrats say her latest account contains additional details and that information from other people connected to the pageant supports parts of her account.

However, the extent and nature of that corroboration would need to be assessed independently.

Report raises questions about modelling agent

The report also discusses Paolo Zampolli, a modelling agent whom Keul identified as the person Trump said would handle her visa arrangements.

Zampolli later served in the Trump administration. The report links him to separate allegations involving a young model whose visa was reportedly arranged before she was recruited to provide a massage at Epstein's residence, where she allegedly suffered sexual assault.

According to the account provided by the committee Democrats, an FBI report documented aspects of that case. The circumstances surrounding the allegations against Zampolli and the extent of any official findings remain important questions requiring careful examination.

Democrats cite allegations involving five women

The report identifies five women who have directly accused Trump of rape or sexual assault in circumstances involving Epstein's company or presence.

The allegations form part of a wider push by congressional Democrats to examine the handling of information connected to Epstein and determine whether relevant evidence has been fully investigated and disclosed.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, is demanding the appointment of an independent special counsel to investigate the allegations.

The report also raises concerns about the Justice Department's handling of investigative material, stating that handwritten notes taken by FBI agents during interviews with one accuser have yet to be released.

The status of those records and the reasons for their non-disclosure are central to the Democrats' calls for further scrutiny.

White House rejects allegations

The White House has strongly rejected the report's claims.

Spokeswoman Lauren Bis reportedly dismissed the findings as a “desperate attempt by crazed Democrats” and maintained that Trump had been “fully exonerated” of wrongdoing related to Epstein.

The dispute places renewed attention on the long-running questions surrounding Epstein's connections to powerful figures, the treatment of survivors' allegations and the disclosure of investigative records.

Keul's account remains an allegation, not a judicial finding. Any independent investigation would need to examine her testimony, the reported corroborating evidence, relevant FBI records and the responses of those accused before reaching conclusions.

For now, House Democrats are pressing for an independent investigation, while the White House maintains that the accusations are politically motivated and unfounded.
